Our Story

K-BOB's black and white photo of one of their original locations.

In 1966, Gabe Parsons founded the first K-BOB’S Steakhouse in Clovis, New Mexico. His vision was simple: serve hand-cut, mouth-watering steaks, offer a farm-fresh Salad Wagon, and dish up the best Chicken Fried Steak in town.

In the 1990s, Ed Tinsley III, a Lamesa, Texas native, acquired the chain with a mission to modernize the concept, introducing new flavors and our signature horseshoe bars.

Mr. Tinsley dedicated himself to the K-BOB’S brand and the communities we serve for 20+ years, driven by his passion for delivering exceptional quality and value.

Though Mr. Tinsley passed in 2022, his legacy lives on. His family continues to operate K-BOB’S with the same passion and commitment.

At K-BOB’S, our mission is simple:

Serve the Food America Loves® with a smile.

Whether you’re taking a break from the highway, enjoying a steak and cold beer after a long day’s work, celebrating a special occasion, hosting a team dinner, or gathering for lunch after church, we’re here to celebrate with you.

Our Promise

MADE FROM SCRATCH, FROM OUR KITCHEN TO YOUR TABLE

For 60 years, we've stayed true to our commitment: serving authentic, made-from-scratch meals every day. Our dedication to quality is reflected in every dish, from hand-cut meats and fresh-chopped vegetables to homemade soups and hot rolls prepared daily.

We’re more than just a restaurant—we’re an integral part of the communities we serve. As a destination, an employer, a supporter of local causes, and a source of pride, we stand by our motto:

“Family, Community, School, then K-BOB’S.”
